Last a week, a Facebook post claiming Ludacris bought groceries for a stranger at Whole Foods went viral. Therra Jaramillo, who takes care of “four rescued dogs, two rescued cats, an elderly, blind chicken named Dixie Licklighter, [and her] disabled brother,” said that she was struggling with her financial situation ever since her husband died of brain cancer, but thanks to Ludacris she was able to afford her shopping at Whole Foods. Turns out, it wasn’t the first time he’s done this, either.

The New York Times decided to look into the matter further, and they managed to uncover multiple social-media posts of the rapper and actor not just at Whole Foods, but also buying groceries for other customers there, too.

In fact, Luda has even been seen in different Whole Foods across the country.

A local news station in Atlanta was so enamored with the story, they tracked down Jaramillo to confirm he did actually buy her all her groceries. And yes, she says he’s just as kind as the story made him out to be.

Reaching out to Ludacris’ longtime manager Chaka Zulu, NYT confirmed that he’s just as charitable as the posts would make it seem. “Funny thing, Luda does these things all the time. But he doesn’t want to do interviews to highlight it. It’s just his heart.” God bless Luda. For an extensive breakdown of all the times he’s been spotted in Whole Foods, read the full NYT piece here.
