Back in 2013, Kanye West had a pretty significant beef with late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. It all started when the latter spoofed the rapper’s now-infamous interview with radio personality Zane Lowe, by using a kid to re-enact all of Yeezy’s lines. Kanye saw the segment and, back when he had a Twitter account, proceeded to explode on social media, tweeting out several direct shots at Kimmel, including the following line: “JIMMY KIMMEL PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES…OH NO THAT MEANS YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TOO MUCH GOOD P***Y IN YOUR LIFE.” The line was not only hilarious, but also played right into the comedian’s hands by creating more content for their very public beef.
Kimmel has since had West as a guest on his show and the two have supposedly patched things up, but that doesn’t mean the flare-up wasn’t ripe for the picking when a special birthday edition of Kimmel’s well-known “Mean Tweets” segment aired last night. The host turned 50 years old yesterday (November 13th) and, to mark the occasion, celebrity guest Ray Romano introduced a series of clips where Kimmel’s famous friends read mean tweets that social media users have tweeted about him. After being called things such as a “jackass d**k sucker” and a “bloated douche bag,” Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian descended upon the show to read her husband’s iconic diss. The best thing? It hasn’t lost a single bit of its comedic value. Check out the full segment below.
In other Kanye West news, his fans made a strong attempt to have his single “Hey Mama” accumulate more streams than any Taylor Swift single from her new album Reputation. Not only was it a thinly-veiled shot at Swift and the supposed shots that she takes at the rapper on several of her new songs, but it was also a chance for Yeezy nation to honor the late Donda West, who passed away 10 years ago November 10th. Coincidentally (or so she says, anyways), Reputation was available on iTunes and in stores, but not on streaming platforms, on the very same day. Kanye hasn’t publicly responded to any of Taylor’s controversial moves, but with a rumored new album in the works, something tells me he’ll be speaking his mind on the subject before long.
