When one thinks of Cardi B, two things most often come to mind first. On the one hand, you have her meteoric rise to fame on the back of her catchy, ever-present single “Bodak Yellow,” a song that has lifted her into the A-list stratosphere of the hip-hop world. On the other hand, you have the catty side of the rapper, a woman whose penchant for public drama can sometimes distract from her music or, at the very least, grate on the nerves of her supporters. This latest update falls into the latter category, with Cardi getting the claws out after yet another hater decided to cross her on social media.

The culprit this time was comedian Sommore, who shared a clip from the rapper’s music video for “Bodak” with an oddly caustic caption that read as follows: “Just cause you busy don’t mean your winning…. You better be reading ya paper work! #Chandelierovahere.” There’s been no public showing of a beef between these two women thus far and, with Cardi B under so much more scrutiny now with her loftier status as a rapper, we probably would’ve heard about it by now. To her credit, no feelings were kept in check when it came to her response.

Cardi replied to the diss with an Instagram post of her own, going into great detail about how she really is winning, contrary to the hater mentality our there:

“Coming from nothing isn’t winning, doing everything they said I couldn’t because of my stripper past isn’t winning, taking care of my family isn’t winning, reaching the top of the billboard charts when everybody said NO isn’t winning??? If this ain’t winning sis you tell me what is!! I know you must be so busy and overbooked that finding the time to give me “advice” was hard!! But I talk to Christ and my mother everyday and I don’t need it!!”

You have to admire Cardi’s drive and determination, with a backstory that allowed for her to endure more than enough setbacks and hardships before making it big. If the message wasn’t there before, it’s clearer than ever now: don’t cross her with any attempt at social media hate.
